Terms of service

Last updated October 31, 2026. Questions: john@welcomesignweb.com

Who we are and what this covers

These terms apply to websites and related services provided by Welcome Sign Web ("we", "us"). By asking us to put a site live or by paying for a plan, you ("the client") agree to them. The free preview is covered too: looking at it costs nothing and commits you to nothing.

The free preview

We may build a preview of a website for your business using public information, before you ask us to. Previews are shown at a private address, are not indexed by search engines, and are taken down on request. A preview is our work until you take a plan; see "Ownership" below.

Plans and payment

Plans are billed monthly in advance by card through our payment processor. There is no setup fee and no minimum term. Prices are shown on our website and in your welcome email and will not change for an existing client without 30 days' notice by email.

A one-time rebuild is available at $999. It includes the finished site and its files, 30 days of fixes after launch, and optional hosting with us at the rate shown on our website. Edits after the first 30 days are quoted per change or by moving to a monthly plan.

What is included

Every monthly plan includes:

Your responsibilities

You confirm that:

How changes are made

Send change requests by email from an address we have on file for you. Routine edits are made, checked and published without further confirmation. Anything that changes prices, legal statements or the structure of the site, or that we are unsure about, is confirmed with you first. We aim to complete edits within the timeframe shown for your plan on business days; these are targets, not guarantees.

Ownership

Your domain name is registered in your name and is yours at all times. Your business name, text, logo, photos and other material you supply remain yours.

The design and code of the site we build remain ours while you are on a monthly plan. After 12 consecutive months of service, the finished site and its files are yours, and we will hand them over on request at no charge. If you leave earlier and want the site itself, you may buy it for the difference between the amounts you have paid and the one-time price of $999. Either way, your domain and content leave with you regardless.

Tools, templates and code we use across many clients remain ours and are licensed to you for your site.

Cancelling

Cancel by email at any time; the plan ends at the end of the paid month and nothing further is charged. We keep the site online until the end of that month, hand over your content and, where it applies, the site files, and help you move your domain to a registrar of your choice. We do not take a site offline without telling you first.

Non-payment and suspension

If a payment fails we will email you and retry. If it is still unpaid after 14 days we may pause the site with a holding page until it is settled, and after 60 days we may end the service. Your domain and content remain yours.

What we do not promise

We do not guarantee search rankings, traffic, enquiries or sales. We do not guarantee that a site will never be unavailable, though we use reliable hosting and monitor it. Our total liability to you for anything arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect losses such as lost profits.

Use of AI

We use AI tools to draft content, build pages and prepare routine updates. A person reviews every site before you see it and every change before it is published. You are responsible for checking that the facts on your site are right, and we will correct anything you point out.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Clients receive 30 days' notice of material changes by email and may cancel before they take effect. Questions about these terms: john@welcomesignweb.com.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute will be handled in the courts of California, after a good-faith attempt to resolve it by email or phone first.
